Stars beat Renegades by 11 runs (D/L) method

It was a clash between the two local Melbourne based franchisees. Melbourne Stars elected to bat first, and did a good job at that. Except White, there was some form of contribution from all the other batsmen. The highlight of the evening was the partnership between Bailey and Hussey scoring 21 and 51 respectively. However, a quickfire by Wade towards the end was interesting as he scored 32 of just 15 balls including 3 massive sixes. The Stars scored 167/5 in their allotted 20 overs.

The Renegades did not start well and lost early wickets. Unlucky for them, they only played 8.1 overs and managed to score just 58/3 as none of the batsmen took off in T20 style. Maxwell did manage to score 24 runs in 24 balls. However, rain played spoilt sport and D/L method was used to decide the outcome.

Melbourne Stars beat Melbourne Renegades by 11 runs (D/L method).
