Hobart Hurricanes beat Melbourne Renegades in a thriller

Melbourne Renegades won the toss and elected to bat first. Finch and Hodge did a fabulous job as openers and got through an opening partnership of 126 runs which included 4 sixes and 13 fours. Afridi managed to score 18 runs of 10 balls which included 2 huge sixes. The Renegades managed to score 173/4 in thier allotted 20 overs. Krejza did the trick for the Hurricanes as he took 3 wickets while conceding 39 runs in his 4 overs.

For the Hurricanes, Cosgrove lost his wicket early but the rest of the team did well to score at the required rate. Wells was the highest scorer with 72 runs of 61 balls while Birt, Shah and Jaques scored 25, 49 and 12* respectively. While Nannes and Herrick bowled well, neither of the other bowlers managed to control the run-rate. The Hurricanes achieved the target of 174 runs in 19.5 overs in a thriller that went until the last few balls. Shah scored 49 in just 30 balls to take his team home.

Hobart Hurricanes beat Melbourne Renegades by 7 wickets.
