Brisbaine Heat beat Melbourne Renegades in a close encounter

Brisbaine Heat, who elected to bat first, did their job well by scoring 168/7, thanks to the efforts of Hayden, Lynn, Van Der Merwe and Vettori who scored 28, 34, 36 and 40 respectively.  Afridi did the trick for the Renegades as he took the wickets of the middle order of Lynn, Christian and Forrest.

The Renegades lost Hodge early but Afridi's quick 26 and Finch's 72 of just 46 balls helped them reach a respectable score. None of the other batsmen delivered and the Renegades managed to score 156/9 in their allotted 20 overs. McDermott and Neser took 3 wickets each  which Christian took 1. The run out of Finch was probably the turning point of the game.

Brisbaine Heat beat Melbourne Renegades by 12 runs.
