Scorchers beat Renegades in a close encounter

The Melbourne Renegades won the toss and elected to bat on a surface that was clearly for the batsmen. Finch and McDonald gave them a perfect start with an opening stand of 91 runs. Maxwell, Reardon and Razzaq all supported the openers with double figue scores and high strike rates. The Renegades scored a massive 188 for the loss of 3 wickets.

Perth Scorchers, although staring under extreme pressure, did very well as both their openers put on an opening stand of 95 runs. Gibbs scored 57 while SE Marsh was unlucky to get his 100 and ended the innings on 99 not out. Scorchers scored 192 in 19.2 overs to win the game comfortably.

Perth Scorchers beat Melbourne Renegades by 8 wickets in a well played and action packed match.
