Hobart Hurricanes destroy Sydney Sixers

Hobart Hurricanes, who won the toss and elected to bat, recovered well from the early wicket of Wells to score a decent 169 in their allotted 20 overs, losing just 3 wickets. The stars of the evening were Jaques and Birt who played well for a 107 second wicket partnership, scoring 73 and 65 respectively at an excellent strike rate.

Sydney Sixers, not only went wrong in their bowling department, but their batting looked shabby as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. 8 of their 11 batsmen did not reach double figures. Not a single six was hit in their innings of 127 all out. Maddinson was their top scorer with 33 runs followed by Smith scoring 28.

Hobart Hurricanes won the match quite convincingly by 42 runs.
