Gilchrist unlikely to play in Big Bash

Adam Gilchrist, who has just returned to Australia after playing in the IPL for Kings XI Punjab, has stated that it is highly unlikely he will be playing in the Big Bash tournament to be held end of the year. His reasoning was that he retired to spend more time with his family and the Christmas holidays are a golden period for him to be with his family.

This is a big blow to Cricket Australia's efforts of getting high brandable players like Gilly to take part in the tournament. Most international players are likely to be busy during this period with their pre-existing assignments and tours leaving CA in a bit of a spot..........
