Sheffield Shield final to go and Ryobi Cup duration to be reduced
In a drastic step, Cricket Australia plans to drop their sole domestic 5-day game Sheffield Shield final to make way for their new T20 Big Bash League tournaments to be held twice a year. The number of days allotted to the Ryobi Cup is also expected to be reduced. The seniors of Cricket Australia have not been in favour of giving up the Sheffield Shield final tournament. The decision will soon be out and if all goes well, the T20 league will be all set.
