Big Bash to be centered around cities and not states

Cricket Australia's Boss James Sutherland has announced that their reply to the Indian IPL will not be based on states but will be based on cities. He hoped that the league will pull up several international high profile players and will be purely owned, controlled and run by Cricket Australia. Their preference will remain international cricket and that the T20 league will not compromise their international game. In the short term, it will be held over a 5-6 week period and is likely to take place during their peak summer months of December and January (with extension some years in February too).

He made clear that the Big Bash League will compliment international cricket and not compromise with it.
